David Bianchi's Anti-Hazing Presentation
Speaking to 950 Ohio University Students on Hazing's Dangers
Every year, the commencement of the school year is marked with the observance of "Anti-Hazing Week," a nationwide awareness initiative. David Bianchi, known for his work in anti-hazing legislation and litigation, has been a recurrent figure at these events. In 2023, his presentation at Ohio University was attended by 950 fraternity and sorority members. It was not just to spread awareness but to highlight the devastating consequences of what some perceive as 'normal' hazing.
David delved deep into the stories of two young men: Andrew Coffey and Daniel Santulli.
Using a poignant combination of interviews, photos, and security footage from news sources and police investigations, David depicted the negligence exhibited by their supposed fraternity 'brothers.' He also illuminated the long-standing trauma experienced by their families. The ultimate hope is by revealing these harrowing narratives, potential hazing occurrences on Ohio University's campus and elsewhere are stymied not just this year, but for generations to come.
