STFBC Represents Family of Child Found Dead at Daycare

Keiara Whorley and Devonte Tomlin received a call that is every parent’s worst nightmare. Just hours after dropping off their 9-month-old son, Tayvon Tomlin, at Lincoln Marti Daycare in Homestead, Florida, they learned he was found in his crib unresponsive and was being airlifted to a local hospital. Less than an hour after the call he was pronounced dead.

“This is the worst nightmare for any parent. No parent should have to go through this. Children should be looked in on at all times, especially when you are dealing with a 9-month-old baby. We are determined to get to the bottom of why this happened.” said Attorney Stephen Cain.

In the minutes and hours after that first phone call, the family has been given conflicting reports as to what happened during Tayvon’s last minutes at the daycare. Staff and administrators have been less than forthcoming with the family and serious questions remain as to how this could happen.

Stephen Cain and Michael Levine from our firm represent the family as they uncover the truth behind Tayvon’s tragic death. Our firm is determined to uncover what happened and help bring some closure and justice to our clients.

The family is seeking the community’s support and has started a GoFundMe page in order to help with funeral costs and counseling for Tayvon’s siblings who are 4 and 5 years old.

The case has been covered by multiple major outlets, including:
