STFBC Secures $4.35 Million Settlement for Plaintiff Wrongly Blamed for Head-On Crash

|

Our client was struck in a serious head-on collision that left her critically injured. But when law enforcement arrived at the scene, they pointed the finger at the wrong person. Meanwhile, our client was being airlifted to a nearby trauma center, where she underwent multiple surgeries. While she was fighting to recover, investigators concluded that she had caused the crash by being distracted while attempting to turn into a shopping center.

What that initial inquiry failed to account for was that the driver who struck her had been traveling at more than 80 mph in a 35 mph zone.

Additionally, the firm was initially told that the at-fault driver had no applicable insurance coverage. Further investigation revealed that he had been driving a company vehicle at the time of the crash—a fact that completely changed the case.

After a thorough independent investigation, Stewart Tilghman Fox Bianchi & Cain was able to set the record straight and secure a $4.35 million settlement for a wrongfully blamed plaintiff who had already been through enough. Michael Levine, working alongside co-counsel Mike Crary, handled the case from start to resolution. "This result is a testament to our firm's model," Michael said. "We take on a limited number of cases and turn over every stone for the benefit of our clients."

The $4.35 million settlement reflects what that approach looks like in practice: investigating what others missed, pursuing coverage that was initially denied, and refusing to let an inaccurate official account define the outcome for a seriously injured client.
