Mr. Levine is among the most accomplished attorneys under 40, winning tens of millions of dollars for his clients in complex personal injury, product liability, and medical malpractice claims.
One of Michael’s most significant accomplishments was his work on behalf of the parents of Andrew Coffey, a young man who died at an FSU fraternity event due to hazing. He represented the family in a civil claim against the fraternity and 14 other defendants. Additionally, Michael helped draft “Andrew’s Law,” a statute that strengthened Florida’s anti-hazing laws. It was hailed as an innovative way to address the culture of hazing.
What Best Lawyers Inclusion Means
The Best Lawyers in America publishes an annual list of the most highly regarded attorneys within each field of practice and metro area. To build the list, the editorial staff relies on a methodology of peer review and peer ratings. Attorneys are asked to nominate lawyers they believe ought to be included in the Best Lawyers list with two caveats: it cannot be themselves, and it cannot be an attorney at their firm.
Once the nominations are gathered, practicing attorneys rate every lawyer on the ballot. The highest-rated lawyers are vetted for their history with the state bar and the ethics committee, ensuring that every attorney included on the list is in good standing. Once vetted, the highest-rated lawyers are listed together in the annual publication.
