Past Cases Involving Negligent Security Claims
Our work in this area included a case where a 26-year-old lawyer was sound asleep in his hotel room when the son of the manager stole the master key, broke into the room, and killed him while he was sleeping so that he could steal his car to visit his girlfriend out of state. That case focused on the lack of proper key control and was successfully tried to a jury in Ft. Myers.
In another case, an unknown assailant broke into the ground floor room of a young woman staying in a motel and raped her. The assailant was never caught, but we were able to prove that the lock on the sliding glass door was defective. Our investigation revealed that the motel operator tried to fix it after the rape occurred to cover up their negligence. That case settled before trial.
Few things are more traumatic than being assaulted. We have seen far too many cases where a person was harmed while on the premises of a business where there was a known criminal problem but management ignored the issue in order to save money. We can help you with these cases and have the experience and the resources to do so. We have secured hundreds of millions of dollars for our clients in verdicts and settlements thanks to our approach to each case.
